Her Story

A life changed.
A community responds.

On 28 March 2025, my beautiful niece, Carissa Aspnes, was catastrophically injured after being thrown from the back of a motorcycle. She was en route to celebrating her 22nd birthday.

The road has been more challenging than any of us imagined, but Carissa is here — a year later. She has fought for her life for every single moment, proving they all matter.

On 28 March 2026, we're introducing the Create for Carissa Charity Bundle — a celebration of faith, love, hope, and triumph.

The Theme

Every designer was asked to include
one thing: a butterfly.

Rather than a specific color palette or narrow theme, each designer was asked to create in a way that simply made them happy. Butterflies symbolize transformation, metamorphosis — the ability to evolve and adapt to a changing world.

Carissa has always loved butterflies. It seemed fitting to include them.

Having just celebrated her 23rd birthday this month, her life has now shifted from survival to a more joy-focused existence. She has shared recently she is determined to give herself the best life imaginable.

There is truly something for everyone in this massive bundle of happiness, with all proceeds going to support Carissa's ongoing healing journey. She has fought for her life for every single moment, proving they all matter.
